Even though I was a Physical Education teacher before I got sick with Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia, I had to start exercising so slowly.  The first day I walked for five minutes out my front door and came back.  I laid on the couch until the flu like achy muscles calmed down. When I had enough energy I would get up and do what I could.  The second day I did the same but did not get as sick after the five minute walk.

On my third day, I did not have the post-exertional malise.  By the fourth day, I was up to six minutes.  Again, I did not add more time to my walking until I didn’t feel the post-exertional malaise.  When I got to 20 minutes without post-exertional malaise, I started walking a little faster.
